Kelly’s first love is the guitar, and
he has returned to that lately. While his finger picking style is
somewhat traditional, it includes modern popular selections which
could be described either as “variety” or “random”;
which is to say, a Beatles selection might be followed by a Swedish
waltz, a Renaissance tune or something by Black Sabbath. Likewise,
Kelly might play a tune straight ahead or go into an extended improvisation,
or literally compose a new section within the arrangement. These flights
of fancy are something he counts as an advantage of working solo. |
