Kelly Werts is known around Wichita as a member of bands such as The Sons of Rayon and The Plaid Family, as a performer at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, and as the inventor of Velcro Tap Dancing. He is known around his present home in Kansas City for scoring the nationally successful PBS series, "Rare Visions and Roadside Revelations", as well as other video and film productions in the area. He has championed the traditional music of Kansas by perfoming tirelessly throughout the state, but looks to the future by pushing the envelope of steel string guitar playing. Like Paul and Susan, he composes music for diverse ensembles and uses improvisation to open new lines of musical communication. |
